TreePad is a personal information manager that safely stores all your notes, letters, images, emails, texts, hyperlinks, etc. All the data are organized and searchable. Its article-pane consists of a word processor, which allows you to type in your data. The editor supports text-formatting, active underlined hyperlinks and images.

I miss TreePad. It was versatile, yet unpretentious. Stores all my information in a relational format that gives easy access because of it's powerful search engine. I miss the certainty of good support and the confidence of having my information securely encrypted, the versatility to export that information in a number of relevant formats with the learning opportunities that that presents. I no longer have the opportunity to upgrade as my needs grow.

TreePad is a hierarchical database which stores articles in a hierarchical tree-like structure. It does this well. It comes with templates for storing information such as such things as book and music collections PIM, disk, Passwords and URL's Medium power wordrocessor and powerful export features into .html, .tpd, rtf files. Addons can do a mediocre job of .pdf and very useful, very professional .exe files. I find this program very useful and regret not updating to the enterprise edition while I was still able. It still maintains its functionality. It is still my main program of data storage with a functional search engine. Recommended.

I have used almost all versions of this program, starting with Treepad Lite, up to Treepad Enterprise. I stepped down from Enterprise to Business (TPB), as that was good enough for me. Enterprise was a bit overkill.
I use TPB as a logging tool for my job, and also for note taking. It’s a intuitive and simple tool, but I have to admit that I’m biased, as I use it since the 1990’s and have gotten accustomed to quirks if they exist.
I love that you don’t have to install it, so I use it as a ‘portable’ app on Dropbox. That way I don’t have to worry about backups. I still backup the Dropbox directory to my HDD though…
The fact that I’m not sure whether TPB will function under Windows 11 (I haven’t tested it yet, as I’m still on Win10), makes me look around for an alternative. Until now the apps/programs I looked at are fine, but overloaded with features.
I like simple and robust programs, like Simplenote, Treepad and Notetab (also extinct). But I like interoperability between OS’s also (Windows and IOS). So the search continues, while still using the big three (for me).

Harry, I use TreePad Business the same way you do. Portable app out of DropBox. It still works great on Windows 11. I have looked at pretty much every alternative, but still nothing compares with the feature set and options available in TreePad. I also use the eBookCreator to create a standalone executable of my database with my colleagues so they have an easy to use and easy to search copy of my notes.
