I use TPB as a logging tool for my job, and also for note taking. It’s a intuitive and simple tool, but I have to admit that I’m biased, as I use it since the 1990’s and have gotten accustomed to quirks if they exist.
I love that you don’t have to install it, so I use it as a ‘portable’ app on Dropbox. That way I don’t have to worry about backups. I still backup the Dropbox directory to my HDD though…
The fact that I’m not sure whether TPB will function under Windows 11 (I haven’t tested it yet, as I’m still on Win10), makes me look around for an alternative. Until now the apps/programs I looked at are fine, but overloaded with features.
I like simple and robust programs, like Simplenote, Treepad and Notetab (also extinct). But I like interoperability between OS’s also (Windows and IOS). So the search continues, while still using the big three (for me).
Henk passed away a few year ago. Thank you Henk for working with me and the fun we had in Amsterdam at the company we both worked at.
I have been using Treepad Lite daily since some 14 years for keeping all kinds of info with great enthousiasm. Unfortunately, two weeks ago my file turned into a 0 bytes file. If I cannot recuperate the file I will loose at least 3 years input of my most personal data. The file is on a 1 tb ssd. Most likely the file got corrupted when - having the file open - my computer lost power. Chkdsk /f /r did not show any bad sectors, hence it did not produce a 'found.000' as I had hoped. I've not lost all hope yet to find data recovery software which can do the job. Otherwise I understand from internet sources that using hex edit software would be my last option. Have you got any ideas? I hope to hear from you. Kind regards! (I read and write English and Dutch)
I'm sorry I cannot help you. TreePad was a product of Henk's own company. We worked together at another company.
